    SPF (Sun Protection Factor)

    Definition

A number on sunscreen indicating how well it blocks UVB rays. SPF 30 blocks ~97% of UVB; SPF 50 blocks ~98%. Post-treatment skin is more sensitive and requires consistent SPF.

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is a measure of how much UVB radiation a sunscreen blocks compared to bare skin. It does not measure UVA protection — for that, look for 'broad-spectrum' on the label. UVA is what causes most photoaging (wrinkles, sun spots, sagging), so broad-spectrum is what matters for long-term skin health.

    Why It Matters After Treatment

Almost every aesthetic treatment — peels, lasers, microneedling — temporarily increases sun sensitivity and makes the skin more prone to new pigmentation. A single unprotected day can undo weeks of work. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30 minimum is the rule.

⚠️ ImportantSPF only works if reapplied. Once in the morning isn't enough if you'll be outside for hours.
