    Downtime

    Definition

The recovery period after a cosmetic treatment during which skin may appear red, swollen, or flaky — ranging from none (HydraFacial) to several days (medium peels, ablative lasers).

'Downtime' refers to the window after a treatment when your skin isn't quite social-ready. The amount varies dramatically by treatment:

    • Zero downtime: HydraFacial, Hollywood Peel, IPL (mild pinkness only)
    • 1–2 days: Microneedling, light chemical peels, ResurFX, non-ablative laser
    • 3–5 days: Medium TCA peels, more aggressive microneedling, PiQo4 fractional
    • 5–10+ days: Deep peels, ablative CO2 laser resurfacing
💡 Pro TipAlways plan downtime around real life — weddings, work events, photos. Your provider can match treatment intensity to your calendar.
