    Rosacea

    Definition

A chronic skin condition that causes persistent facial redness, flushing, and sometimes visible blood vessels — most commonly on the nose, cheeks, and forehead.

Rosacea is a long-term inflammatory condition that affects the small blood vessels and oil glands of the central face. Triggers vary by person but commonly include sun exposure, heat, alcohol, spicy food, and stress. Left untreated, the redness can become permanent and visible blood vessels (telangiectasias) can develop.

    What Helps

    • IPL photofacial — collapses the visible vessels feeding the redness
    • Daily broad-spectrum SPF and gentle, fragrance-free skincare
    • Avoiding personal triggers (heat, alcohol, harsh actives)
    • Prescription topicals from a dermatologist for inflammatory flares
